Sullivan House Alternative High School serves students of the South Shore area with an enrollment of 180 students and a student/teacher ratio of about 10:1. The high school is a program of the Sullivan House Child Welfare Agency and is affiliated with the Youth Connection Charter School.
Programs & Services
Students ages 16 to 21 who have dropped out or who have difficulty in traditional high school settings study a basic high school curriculum leading to a diploma. There is an emphasis on developing reading and writing skills by participating in the D.E.A.R. program, Principal Writing Prompt, journal activities and student portfolio process.
Admissions
Students must have graduated from 8th grade, be 16-21 years old, a resident of the Chicago area, and have been dropped from previous school for 30 days or more.
