Founded in 1997, Vivian E. Summers Preparatory School provides educational and therapeutic services to students identified as disruptive and expelled from school in grades 6 through 12. The school motto is: Nurturing the minds of tomorrow! Vivian E. Summers Preparatory School is affiliated with the Office of Specialized Services of the Chicago Public School.
Programs & Services
Sixty-five elementary and eighty-five elementary high school students attend this non-traditional program with an 85% attendance rate where they can accelerate in a comfortable learning environment. The parent organization, Human Resources Development Institute, augments the academic program with wrap around services including social, emotional, developmental, spiritual and psychological programs.
