Praxis Project


A school leadership and capacity building initiative to enhance the knowledge and skills of high school directors and teachers by sharing experiences, ideas, and initiatives within the ASN and through collaborations with external partners. The goals of Praxis Project are: to assist high school directors in creating a positive atmosphere for learning in which all stakeholders contribute to the running and development of the school; to foster a culture of communication and collaboration in and between member schools in order to provide students with the best opportunities for success i.e. graduation, higher education and/or employment; to work with ASN member schools to provide workshops in the areas of school structure/ organization and management, and the enhancement of teaching and learning techniques; and to support schools with internal initiatives by recommending resource people in the areas of alternative education and best practices.

This program is funded by the City of Chicago Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
