Westside Alternative High School (WAHS) serves up to 200 students ages 17 to 21 in the Austin area. WAHS is state recognized, accredited by NCA and is a campus of Youth Connection Charter Schools.

Programs & Services
The academic program includes opportunities to develop effective interpersonal and team relationships, vocational and leadership skills and self-presentation and self-determination competence. Students are expected to demonstrate increasing maturity, independence, cognitive and emotional stability, responsibility and moral values and to accept criticism for corrective and/or alternative behavior to promote personal success. WAHS services are designed to assist students in attaining their highest personal positional, educational levels and career goals.

Admission is based on a lottery process and a pre-identified criteria including, but not limited to, a TABE test score in Reading and Math of 5.0 or above. Students applying for enrollment at WAHS must bring the following documents: picture ID, transcript with former school, drop/release withdrawal form, proof of address, proof of income, immunization record, Social Security card, birth certificate.
