Lawrence Hall's Therapeutic Day School programming has become a model for "reaching and teaching" some of the most challenging student populations. 40 years of experience have taught that when you combine a safe environment, outstanding teachers, creative programming, supportive services, and new opportunities, students who have been labeled failures can achieve success.

Individualized academic and effective educational programming improves outcomes for youth with severe emotional disorders, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and cognitive disorders. Lawrence Hall's rigorous curriculum integrates the evidence-based Classroom Community Model that emphasizes interpersonal skill building and pro-social behavior within the Common Core Curriculum. Students and their families have access to social and rehabilitative services provided by certified and licensed therapists. Supportive services include speech and language therapy, individual, group, and family counseling, music and art therapy, and therapeutic recreation. Additionally, we administer diagnostic assessments to identify educational needs as well as placement planning and coordination in the least restrictive educational environment.

For four consecutive years, Lawrence Hall's Therapeutic Day School has been recognized as a School of Excellence by the National Association of Special Education Teachers. Lawrence Hall's school was the first Therapeutic Day School to achieve accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has maintained it since. It is also accredited by the Council on Accreditation, and licensed by the Illinois State Board of Education for Therapeutic Day School and residential school placements.
