Instituto Justice and Leadership Academy (IJLA) was founded in 1996, housed in the Institute for Latino Progress. IJLA is a 3-year alternative high school serving 145 youth, ages 16-21, from the predominantly Latino neighborhoods of Pilsen, Little Village and Back of the Yards.

Programs and Services

IJLA provides a safe and democratic environment where students learn to be decision-makers in their own lives and to become active participants in their community by employing principles of unity and social justice. IJLA offers career and academic counseling, job assistance, school to work and other extracurricular activities
