At Alternative Schools Network (ASN), sports are about much more than winning. Through our basketball, volleyball, and bowling leagues, students from schools across Chicago have opportunities to participate in positive activities, build relationships, and experience the value of being part of a team.
For many young people, athletics can become an important pathway to personal growth and success. ASN's sports programs provide students with positive mentors and role models while helping them develop teamwork, communication, leadership, discipline, and resilience.
Students also have the opportunity to build friendships and connect with peers from other schools in a safe and supportive environment. Staying active can support their physical and mental well-being while giving them a positive outlet to have fun, compete, and represent their schools.
Most importantly, the lessons learned through sports extend beyond the court, lane, or playing field. Students learn how to work toward a goal, respond to challenges, support their teammates, and keep going when things don't go as planned.
Every game is another opportunity to build character, strengthen friendships, develop confidence, and create brighter futures.
Play. Grow. Succeed.
